I often find articles on **this** website that strike a cord with me. In the spirit of RED January and helping break the silence around mental health problems I thought I would share this one. 3 Phrases I Said When I Was Suicidal That Actually Meant ‘I Want to Die’ I once kept a diary…… Continue reading Listening to what we don’t say…..
RED day 16 done. I am over half way. My shins do not appear to love running everyday although the impact is easier on them using the treadmill. I wanted to run on the boulevard today but woke up with a sore throat and sore ears so it was a safer plan to stay home if…… Continue reading Day 16
Day 15 done!!! I love my new treadmill, well I love that I’m not running in the freezing cold. Back outside tomorrow though. Well hopefully…. I got a message from Mind this morning. £322,000 raised in 15 days! 16 days left to go. I’ve had some wobbly days over the last couple of weeks. Days where if…… Continue reading Day 15. I love my treadmill
Day 14 done!!! 2 full weeks of running everyday. Today’s run was a lot less cold and windy thanks to my new treadmill! woohoo. 6km done. 36 miles this week and 71 miles since January 1st. Oh and no booze or cigarettes either. I’m not quite sure what’s happening to me…….

Day 11 out in the dark. I ran with a friend which was good because I really felt like giving up at 2 km. My foot was sore. It was windy. It was cold. All excuses. My friend kept me going for another 5km so I get to tick 7km off my total rather than…… Continue reading Day 11 & 12 and some photography….
Day 9! Finally a run outside of Stonepay! Running around in circles gets old! Especially circles that have hills. So today I went to the Boulevard with a friend and we had a run/walk/chat session. Crossed some miles off my goal and some gossip caught up on. All in all a good start to the…… Continue reading Day 9 & 10
Day 8 done!!! This morning was a good example of why RED January is important. I opened my eyes after a horrible night of nightmares and little sleep, my first thought was I can’t do today. I stood in the shower feeling sick and shaking at the thought of leaving the house. But today was the…… Continue reading Day 8 done.
Thats the first week finished! I’ve run 47km this week. 47 very cold kilometres!! I wish it was RED July!!! I have decided to try to run 100 miles this month. I think having a number in my head will keep me motivated. I hope so anyway because these temperatures sure arent.
Today was a crappy run. It was cold and I didn’t enjoy it. I would really like a drink too but I know if I have one i’ll have another 3. I suck at moderation. A hangover will not inspire me to run again tomorrow so sober January it is. I miss gin. And wine.…… Continue reading Day 6. I think Im nuts.
